Which implants are better: Mentor or Motive?

Mentor implants have been occupying first positions in the rankings in the field of endoprosthetics for decades. Many women are concerned about the issue of beautiful breast shape, and to achieve their goal they resort to breast correction. Mentor is an American company that offers implants for surgical interventions, with the use of which it is possible to achieve natural body contours. Each patient can choose the appropriate implant shape and size.

Implants Mentor

The year of foundation of the corporation is considered to be 1969; today the company has branches in several dozen countries around the world, and the products of this brand are accepted as the standard of quality throughout the world.

What types of Mentor implants are there?

The best way to recreate the profile of a woman's breast is with anatomically shaped implants - round or in the form of a drop; these are the types of prostheses produced by the company, and they enjoy a well-deserved reputation among patients.

A wide selection of sizes and shapes allows even the most demanding patients to get what they need to solve the problem. Mentor's research laboratories are constantly improving the texture of implant coatings, which has a positive effect on the installation of prostheses. It is important that when the prosthesis is attached, fibrous tissue grows around it, which arises by combining artificial and natural structures of the body.

Mentor has a wide selection of implants with different sizes and shapes

In order for the implant healing process to occur as naturally as possible and complications to be avoided, there must be a special structure on the silicone surface of the prosthesis. This textured coating allows for perfect adhesion and significantly reduces the likelihood of developing contracture.

Important ! Product quality control is very high - new features are constantly being developed to improve the product.

For example, in 1985, the so-called Memory Gel with an extremely thick and viscous dense structure was invented. Its functionality is as follows:

  • the ability to repeat the shape and elasticity of the mammary gland;
  • complete safety for the patient;
  • wonderful aesthetic effect.

Memory Gel stands out for its advantages

In order to provide assistance to those patients who have undergone mastectomy surgery, special expanders have been produced - these are implants created specifically for this purpose. So women who have survived the fight against a malignant tumor can now not only restore the gland itself, but also make its shape much more attractive.

Features of the gel

This factor additionally influences the choice between Motiva or Mentor - the more natural the “behavior” of the filler, the more natural the décolleté area looks.

  • The internal filling of Mentor is MemoryGel cohesive gel, which can quickly recover from any deformation. Presented in 3 variations:
      Extra soft (I) for round implant breasts.
  • Medium soft (II) for girls with a low percentage of subcutaneous tissue.
  • High-density (III) for a precise aesthetics of the new bust.
  • Motiva offers an alternative of three types of endoprosthesis filler components from the Progressive Gel line:
      Highly elastic Contour (not used in Russian beauty clinics);
  • Soft Plus to create neat contours of the breast;
  • Ultima guarantees a natural feel and shape in all positions.

How it works?

A specialized silicone container containing physiological saline solution is inserted into the breast. Over time, the breasts gradually begin to recover.

As a rule, a special cohesive gel is used, the peculiarity of which is the ability to perfectly maintain its shape, it does not flow, and has a structure as close as possible to the natural one for the mammary glands. Depending on which model and size was chosen, the price is calculated. The plastic surgeon provides detailed consultation, helping to determine the most suitable shape and size. The patient is also involved in choosing the implant.

The implant contains a special cohesive gel

Important ! Round implants are not used so often - in nature, women's breasts usually do not have a perfectly round shape.

The following profile options can be installed:

  • average;
  • average+;
  • high;
  • super high.

After the silicone implant is installed, the breast shape becomes almost ideal. Typically, anatomical prostheses are recommended for women with a thin build and initially small breasts. In this case, they can usually recommend a drop shape - it looks more natural.

Depending on the shape of the breast, a specific type of implant is selected

Silicone implants give very good results. Here are the cases in which the use of these prostheses is useful:

  • correction of asymmetrical breast shape;
  • elimination of deformation that comes with age;
  • correction after breastfeeding;
  • aesthetic restoration.

There are a number of different contraindications in which the use of silicone prostheses is prohibited. These include:

  • diseases associated with blood vessels and heart;
  • history of allergies;
  • respiratory diseases;
  • diabetes;
  • skin dermatological diseases directly on the chest;
  • mastopathy.

How is the size selected?

Some women think that the product size corresponds to their bra size. This is absolutely not true. The size in this case is expressed in units of volume (cubic centimeters). To determine the size, the surgeon uses a set of sizers during the consultation. These are implants that are used for demonstration and sizing. They are applied to the breast to see what it will look like after surgery. Using a special measurement system, the doctor recommends one size or another to the patient. At the same time, he can use drawings and photographs illustrating breast enlargement and its shape.

What are the main differences between Mentor implants?

Firstly, this is Siltex - it has a special moderate structure, which allows us to put an end to the debate about which surface is better - smooth or textured. Supporters of a smooth structure usually pay attention to the fact that an aggressive texture leads to unnecessary complications, and those who prefer a textured texture pay attention to the fact that in this way the prosthesis can be prevented from rotating.

Siltex shell is now often used in the production of implants

The texture of Mentor implants allows us to solve these problems - complications after the intervention are minimized, the implant takes root well, and the risk of side effects is minimal in comparison with analogues.

Important ! In addition, such a special shell allows one to avoid such a rare complication as rupture of the prosthesis.

Secondly, a special patented filling substance is used - Memory Gel. It allows the gland to recover instantly after any deformation (impact, compression). This substance has shaped memory, is integral and does not allow the filler to leak out of the prosthesis even if the shell is damaged.

Memory Gel

The successful combination of components in this gel when using various types of prostheses helped to expand the range of implants. Typically, a high-viscosity gel is used to create anatomical prostheses, when it is especially important to preserve the shape of the breast as accurately as possible.

Important ! The curvature, or bend, of Mentor implants is almost ideal. Due to this, their use allows you to achieve the most natural form after performing the appropriate intervention. The curves accurately convey the ideal body shape.

The curves of Mentor implants are similar to natural ones

Types of implants

Modern implants have long ceased to be standard hemispheres filled with liquid. Today, surgeons select implants based on several characteristics:

  • type of filler;
  • desired breast shape;
  • implant size;
  • surface features and tactile sensations when palpating.

This allows the surgeon to fully realize the patient’s expectations from the operation. Each type of implant has its own disadvantages and advantages, which should be discussed with your doctor in advance.

Saline implants

Saline implants are the first prosthetics to appear. They consist of a dense shell containing saline solution, which is safe for body tissues, even if the implant is damaged and leaks. Today, such implants are considered obsolete; many clinics no longer use them in their work.

Key advantages of saline prostheses:

  • low cost compared to others;
  • filling after placement, which allows them to be placed with minimal incisions;
  • safety against rupture and leakage.

Main disadvantages:

  • low safety profile, there is a risk of ruptures;
  • wear and tear over time due to tissue mobility;
  • softness, sounds when moving;
  • significant weight, threatening tissue sagging;
  • when posing, a “washboard effect” is possible in certain body positions.

Silicone prostheses

Silicone prostheses are the most popular in modern clinics. Over the years, applications have changed significantly; today the latest models are used with silicone in the form of a gel, and the shell itself is much denser and safer.

There are several options for such implants:

  • Standard (cohesive) ones, which help to imitate the body’s own tissue quite well. Highly cohesive ones are almost impossible to deform, but give the breast an unnatural feel to the touch.
  • Soft touch dentures are filled with a soft gel, similar to jellied meat with a memory effect, which is why they expand well after compression.

The advantages of this type of prosthesis:

  • give breasts a natural look if you choose the right size;
  • indistinguishable to the touch from fabrics;
  • have a lifetime warranty;
  • rarely form reactions of surrounding tissues with the growth of scar tissue;
  • have a memory effect.

Disadvantages of products:

  • full incisions are required for staging;
  • It is difficult to determine the location of the damage by palpation; an MRI is required.

Hydrogel implants

Hydrogel implants are one of the modern types of prostheses. They are filled with a natural substance - carboxymethyl cellulose. They have a number of advantages compared to the previous ones:

  • practically do not provoke allergies, inflammation and rejection reactions;
  • do not provoke tissue damage if the contents get out (the hydrogel breaks down into glucose, water and carbon dioxide);
  • do not interfere with mammography;
  • safe for the body.

Disadvantages of hydrogel products:

  • high cost of implants;
  • gradually decrease in volume due to the slow release of filler through the shell.

Providing a lifetime warranty

Mentor offers a lifetime warranty with the possibility of a free replacement with the same product if an implant rupture is detected. In addition, free replacement is also carried out in the event of complex contracture development (in this case, the patient receives an additional ten-year guarantee). Absolutely any endoprosthesis produced by this company takes into account a large number of individual details that are inherent in any female body. The work of designers allows us to achieve the most realistic effect after installing the prosthesis.

provides a lifetime warranty on products

The production is equipped with the most modern automatic equipment, which operates under the control of high-precision electronics. Accordingly, only here are the most unique devices used, which make it possible to achieve the production of absolutely identical realistic implants.

Important ! You can always get a table from the manufacturer that will help you figure it out and decide on the right model. All products are marked for easy identification.

What other factors influence the choice?

Some people think that breast enlargement can be done indefinitely. This is wrong. Limiting the size of the implant depends on the individual characteristics of the patient. The volume of the mammary glands and the area of skin above them should be sufficient to cover. If you choose a larger product, it will protrude noticeably and spoil the appearance. The calculation also takes into account the size and shape of the patient’s chest. In some cases, the localization is changed. Thus, an implant under the pectoral muscle is not as noticeable as under the mammary gland.

If the bust has to be reconstructed after surgery, expanders (tissue expanders) are used. These products have additional devices (built-in or remote ports) that allow the woman to change the volume of her breasts at her request.

How long do Mentor implants last?

Replacement of such implants is performed only in rare emergency cases when there is no other option. Examples include incorrect breast shape after surgery, contracture, etc.

There is no replacement due to expiration date, as these implants have an incredibly long service life. They do not wear out and do not become thinner over time - which is why the corporation guarantees a lifetime warranty on any type of purchased product. This can be considered a real sign of quality for.

Implants have no expiration date

Comparative characteristics of Mentor and Motive

Women who decide to use the services of a plastic surgeon usually choose which manufacturer’s product they should choose. This issue should be addressed as carefully as possible, without neglecting consultation with a doctor. You can collect information about all available manufacturers and read in detail the reviews of women who have undergone correction before.

It is necessary to consult a doctor

not so long ago announced itself, a feature of the implants of this company is the emphasis on creating the most realistic surface, which avoids encapsulation around silicone - this was a serious breakthrough in the field of plastic surgery.

Important ! Products from this manufacturer can not only recreate the absolutely natural shape of a woman’s breasts, but also have the ability to shift the center of gravity, which allows the shape to change naturally with body movements.

"Motiva" is an alternative to "Mentor"

Despite such obvious advantages, the products are extremely in demand among plastic surgeons and patients - specialists in the company’s laboratories are constantly improving prostheses and collaborating with leading specialists in the field of plastic surgery, harmoniously producing the most modern developments, based on practical experience in using certain products, through which is why new products are produced.

The first experiments in female breast prosthetics date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The need to restore the appearance of the breast arose due to the introduction into surgical practice of removing glands affected by cancer. Some sources claim that already in Ancient Egypt and Ancient Rome there were implants that corrected the shape of female breasts, although the methods of ancient doctors had nothing in common with current implants.

The modern history of implantation of silicone prostheses dates back to the 1960s. It was at this time that it was possible to create a suitable silicone base for the production of surgical endoprostheses. At that time, implants had only a round shape, the surface of the prostheses was smooth, and they were filled with silicone gel. However, the first models of implants had serious drawbacks - the shell was not strong enough, which threatened the risk of gel leakage to the outside, and such a complication as scar capsular contractures was quite common. Over the past 20 years, the silicone implant has undergone significant modernization. The shell of the product has become thinner, but at the same time much more durable. Breast implants began to be filled with a very viscous (cohesive) silicone gel that does not leak beyond the boundaries of the implant shell. Already in the 1990s, silicone breast implants received a textured shell, which helps fix the endoprosthesis in the desired position and promotes the growth of soft tissues to foreign silicone. The shell began to consist of multi-level barrier layers that protect the implant from all kinds of damage due to traumatic deformations. Subsequently, the implants received a teardrop shape, ideally following the shape of the female breast. In the industrial production of implants, 2 types of filler have become established: silicone gel, safe for health; physiological saline solution. In 1969, when enthusiastic surgeons conducted the first experiments on female breast prosthetics, a company appeared, the main activity of which was the production of equipment for urological medicine. The company grew, expanded into new areas of medicine, and in 1984 began producing breast implants.

Currently, thanks to a serious scientific and experimental base, Mentor Corporation is one of the three best manufacturers of silicone implants. Every year the company expands its product line, constantly works to improve the quality of implants, and puts into practice the latest developments from its own laboratories.

As soon as female breast prosthetics began to be used, state and international authorities were forced to begin putting barriers against low-quality products that were dangerous to women’s health. Strict safety standards have been introduced to regulate the production and use of silicone implants. And this is fair - concern for a woman’s health should come first; in plastic surgery, the principle of “do no harm” is the same cornerstone as in other areas of medicine. Often these requirements are so strict that almost no manufacturer manages to fully comply with them. It was Mentor Corporation that was the first to certify its breast implants according to all existing standards. This is the only company whose products comply not only with international quality standards, but also with the standards adopted in each of the countries where Mentor Corporation implants are used.

The Mentor Corporation has spared no effort to ensure that its products pass all levels of certification in accordance with the regulations of the Russian Federation. And for several years now, Mentor implants have been widely used by Russian plastic surgeons. Like all breast implants, they are used for both breast augmentation and breast reconstruction after mastectomy. During such operations, the real scourge was the danger of the formation of capsular contracture. Mentor Corporation, the only implant manufacturer, has been able to minimize the risk of this complication. The probability of developing contracture is only 1.1% - the best rate in the world among manufacturers of silicone endoprostheses.

Mentor breast implants

The range includes conventional round and anatomical drop-shaped implants, which perfectly reproduce the shape of the female breast, which makes them especially popular among the fair sex who decide to change their breasts. The product line has a huge number of sizes and configurations, which allows us to take into account the individual characteristics and needs of each patient.

Researchers at the Mentor laboratory attach great importance to work on improving the texture coating of the implant. Not everyone knows that the attachment of a silicone prosthesis in a woman’s breast occurs due to the formation of fibrous tissue around the implant - the result of the fusion of living soft tissues with the implant. To ensure that this process is correct and there are no complications in the form of seals, the surface of modern silicone endoprostheses “Mentor” has a textured pattern developed by the company’s scientists and technologists. This textured surface greatly reduces the risk of contracture formation and promotes reliable fastening of the implant in the woman’s body.

The quality of the implant filler is no less important. The realism of breast firmness depends on the filler. Already in 1985, the company developed its own type of filler - “Memory Gel”. This is a high quality cohesive (i.e. very viscous) silicone gel, characterized by unique homogeneity and safety. The thick gel is not a liquid and perfectly replicates the elasticity characteristic of a young woman’s breast tissue. The latest modifications of this gel perfectly correspond to the 3 most important tasks of plastic surgery - they provide safety, natural sensations and aesthetic results. The Mentor Corporation takes special care of women forced to undergo a mastectomy procedure. To completely recreate the removed breast, the company produces a special type of implants - expanders. This product is a silicone balloon, which, after being placed in the patient’s chest, is filled with a solution of table salt. Slow expansion takes weeks and sometimes months. This allows you to completely restore the shape of the breast, and even improve it in accordance with the needs of the patient who has experienced the loss of a breast in the fight against cancer. At the beginning of 2009, the Mentor Corporation announced its merger with the world-famous Johnson & Johnson concern and its subsidiary. The merger with world leaders in the production of products for modern medicine has become a new starting point for Mentor on the path to leadership among manufacturers of silicone implants.

Lifetime guarantee of Mentor implants

The corporation supplies its products to more than 60 countries around the world. But, in addition, monitoring and research activities are being conducted in all these countries to better meet the demand for silicone implants. Mentor manufactures its products both in the USA (Santa Barbara, California) and in Europe (Leiden, Holland). These production facilities use a unique installation in world practice, which makes it possible to produce implants that are absolutely identical in shape.

The factories are equipped with the latest modern technology; this is a high-tech automatic production controlled by the most precise electronics. The most important parts of the technological equipment are developments of the corporation and have no analogues in the world, like the silicone filler “Memory Gel”, which is a development of “Mentor”. The company's implants are a perfect product of modern high technology. Mentor produces 800,000 implants annually. All these products undergo mandatory testing according to both US and EU standards.

When creating breast implants, Mentor designers take into account thousands of nuances of the shape of a woman’s breast so that the new bust looks absolutely realistic and satisfies the most serious aesthetic needs of patients.

Developers of silicone implants work closely with practicing plastic surgeons in many countries. Thanks to such cooperation, it is possible to constantly modernize the corporation’s products, moving towards achieving impeccable results. This is how the Spectra implant was born, which has the ability to be adjusted after surgery. differs from its analogues in its remarkable ability to “remember” a given shape. Even after the most intense static and dynamic tests, the implant almost instantly restores its configuration. Varying the components of the gel allows the manufacturer to supply patients with models of endoprostheses of different densities, which makes it possible to select an implant that best suits the patient’s preferences and the density of her soft tissues.

with a light heart, it establishes a lifetime guarantee on all manufactured implants, which is additional evidence of the highest quality of the product and its safety.

Types of Mentor implants

Round Mentor implants have a proprietary textured Siltex shell. The shell has a special barrier layer that prevents gel leakage. Moreover, the shell is so soft and pliable that the implant is easily installed through a standard incision. Round implants are available in 4 profile heights: from medium to super high.

Anatomical implants “Contour Profile” – pride. Implants of this type are perfect silicone products with a teardrop shape. Their size range is so extensive that they had to introduce a special 3-digit classification for the convenience of choosing one or another type of implant. 3 numbers in the marking indicate the following parameters of the implant: density (cohesiveness) of the filler, implant height and breast projection height. For example, the marking of the “CPG 322” series means that the Contour Profile implant is filled with gel of the 3rd (highest) degree of cohesiveness, has a 2nd (average) implant height and a 2nd (average +) breast projection height. Variations of these parameters provide a huge number of size options, from which each patient can choose an individual, ideally suited type of breast implant. Mentor's Becker Round Dilators are a unique medical product that allows patients and their surgeons the choice of 1-stage or 2-stage breast reconstruction. These are 2-chamber prostheses, the outer cavity of which is filled with an elastic cohesive gel, and the inner cavity is filled with saline solution. This allows you to gradually, step by step increase the volume of the breast, smoothly and without injury, expanding the soft tissues. The implant is equipped with a patented injection valve port and a special tube, which are removed by the surgeon after the result is achieved. Expansion implants have a proprietary textured surface.

For delayed 2-stage breast modeling, ultra-modern anatomical implants-expanders “Contour Profile” are also used. When such expanders are implanted, due to tissue stretching, a pocket gradually forms in the patient’s chest, into which the implant is placed. Anatomical expanders, allowing to reconstruct the patient’s removed breast, are available in three breast height projections. For many plastic surgeons, “Mentor” and “breast implants” are synonymous words. Why does Mentor come to mind when it comes to breast plastic surgery? The answer is obvious - it was this company that was able to bring a woman as close as possible to the ideal breast shape without the risk of any unpleasant consequences or complications. This is greatly facilitated by the feedback that the company consistently maintains with its patients and surgeons using Mentor products. And the reliability and safety of your new magnificent breasts is confirmed by a lifetime guarantee.

Five main advantages of implants

Mentor implants are undeniably popular. This is justified by the fact that they have a number of obvious advantages.

Firstly, they have a very pliable, neat and soft texture, which allows you to avoid trauma during installation compared to other analogues and achieve the most natural breast shape. The prostheses are also equipped with a specialized barrier shell - this is necessary in order to increase reliability and prevent the gel from penetrating into the tissue.

The texture of implants is one of the advantages

The special patented casing features a moderately textured finish. Due to this, the implantation of prostheses occurs much faster and less traumatic, and the procedure is tolerated by patients with great ease. The Siltex shell of such prostheses prevents in most cases the occurrence of contracture, which seems inevitable when a foreign body enters the body tissue during plastic surgery.

Important ! Of course, this leads to a more positive aesthetic result and helps a woman maintain her health for many years.

The implant shell avoids injury

The shape of the prosthesis is determined by its curvature or curvature. There may be round or anatomical drop-shaped implants - due to this, the natural appearance of the mammary gland is completely reproduced. Typically, the surgeon advises women with a normal build or overweight to use round-shaped dentures, and for thinner patients, teardrop-shaped dentures are recommended. Such differences are dictated by the small amount of fat layer, under which the edges of the teardrop-shaped implant will not be visible.

Implant shapes affect the final result

Important ! For safety, a three-layer shell is used, which minimizes the risk of rupture and leakage of the gel. Some patients pay attention to the fact that this makes the new gland a little less elastic and soft.

External Component

  • The Siltex shell, created using Inpriting technology, provides a special texture to the top layer of Mentor breast prostheses. This makes it as engraftable as possible inside the cavity of the muscle pocket, minimizing the risks of capsule formation and displacement.
  • Motiva is available with 2 types of nanostructured surface: SilkSurface and VelvetSurface, which do not use foreign materials (sugars or salts). This increases the level of biological compatibility, reduces the risk of late seroma, the “double bubble” effect and contracture.

Myths about implants

Plastic surgery is developing dynamically, and surgical techniques and materials used are constantly being improved. Therefore, you can achieve a much better breast shape. Unfortunately, many women are wary of artificial silicone prostheses. They are afraid not so much of the intervention itself as of the body’s “accustoming” to the foreign body subsequently.

Myth 1. Mammoplasty is difficult and dangerous

No, this is a fairly common operation, which, if there are high-quality components (such as Mentor, for example), can be performed at an excellent level. Both the size and shape of your breasts will please you for decades to come. The appearance doesn't just change - it gets much better over time.

Mammoplasty takes place quite quickly and, as a rule, without complications

Myth 2. Plastic surgery can have a negative impact on breastfeeding

This is not so - the shells of the prostheses are made so tightly that they do not allow a single molecule of silicone to pass into the mammary gland, absolutely nothing gets into the milk, and the woman can breastfeed.

Myth 3. Correction leads to breast cancer

A common myth, but not true. The use of implants has a colossal clinical base; many studies have been carried out that allow us to say with confidence that the implantation of prostheses does not lead to detrimental consequences for women’s health.

Important ! After the implants are installed, breast cancer does not develop.

Reasons for replacing breast implants

It is difficult to determine exactly how long a breast implant will be used after its installation. Even an experienced surgeon cannot predict this. After 10-12 years, it is worth having a consultation with a plastic surgeon and discussing with him whether a repeat operation is necessary and whether there are indications for it.

Modern materials and technologies make it possible to extend the service life of implants to life, but often indications for re-plasty arise not only because of the wear of the prostheses. Therefore, doctors determine a number of indications for re-intervention, in which they replace implants with new ones, including those made of other materials, shapes or sizes.

Aging of implants

Any products have their own service life - they gradually age, especially if they are saline-filled implants. The rate of change in the prosthesis itself depends on various factors, including the patient's immune system's response to a foreign substance, the location of the implant, age, activity level, and external influences on the breast. When materials age, there is a higher chance of developing complications due to shell destruction, shape deformation, volume reduction due to leakage and tissue reaction to the leaking composition.

Changing aesthetic preferences

Sometimes women want to change their breast size or shape, which requires a different type of prosthesis. In these cases, there are indications for re-plasty with the replacement of implants with new ones. But a repeat operation is possible only after a certain period of time after the first intervention, so that there is time for tissue restoration, elimination of swelling and healing of scars at the incision sites.

Age-related changes in body tissue

With age, the contours of the body, the ratio of muscle and fat tissue change, the elasticity of the skin and ligaments decreases, which leads to sagging of the prosthesis and a change in the shape of the breast. In this case, the implant itself does not change in any way, but the tissues surrounding it undergo age-related, hormonal, and metabolic changes that require correction. In addition, the condition of the breasts after prosthetics can be affected by the process of breastfeeding, tissue changes during pregnancy, sudden fluctuations in weight, wearing inappropriate underwear and many other external factors.

Formation of complications

The most serious reason why a repeat operation is needed with complete removal or replacement of prostheses even before the end of their service life is the development of complications. Sometimes no one can predict how the body will react to a foreign body; the implant may be rejected, damaged, deformed, and then efforts must be made to eliminate all complications by performing re-plasty.

Questions and answers

If one of the implants moves to the side over time, is this harmful? Will any adjustments be necessary?

This is because the pocket stretches and falls apart over time. Surgery can be performed to suture it, but in general this does not cause harm even if no action is taken. To be sure, it is better to consult your doctor.

What to choose - silicone or saline solution?

Saline implants are smaller, more adjustable, leave a shorter scar, and can be used in women under 22 years of age. The advantages of silicone: it feels much more natural and safer. Well suited for thin patients with small breasts.

It is better to think in advance which implant to choose

uneven a couple of months after the intervention ?

This usually occurs in those who used the same implants for initial breast asymmetry. This cannot be changed - it is better to immediately consult with your doctor and agree on further recommendations with him.

Patient reviews

Sofia , Magnitogorsk

I got “Mentor” quite a long time ago - the doctor recommended a teardrop shape and an average profile for my figure. I don’t see any differences from natural breasts; silicone cannot be found even lying down.”

Evgenia , Irkutsk

“After I went through unsuccessful plastic surgery the first time, I collected my strength for a long time before performing the second one. However, the Mentor implants did not fail – even after several years the shape is excellent, others notice it.”

Patients enjoy the procedure

Valentina , Tomsk

“I specifically wanted these implants for their shape and texture. I saved for a long time for the operation, but finally my dream came true! After the intervention, I had to take care of myself for some time, wear special underwear on the doctor’s advice, but the rehabilitation is behind me, and I am very pleased.”

What do the experts say?

Opinion of plastic surgeon Katrin Hecher

“Mentor implants have been used for many years; they are absolutely safe and time-tested. You can choose the desired shape, profile and size, the desired texture. The choice is very wide and convenient. Any woman can make a choice based on her individual characteristics. There is also a wide range of various products for breast reconstruction, expanders, and special fabrics. "Mentor offers an excellent guarantee on its product."

How to choose the right Mentor breast implants?

When visiting a plastic surgeon, women, as a rule, want to get a completely new bust, while rarely taking into account the characteristics of their own physique. To ensure that after such operations the breasts look natural and harmoniously combine with the individual characteristics of the figure, Mentor produces a wide range of implants, varying in shape, size and profile. Therefore, the choice of endoprostheses must be approached comprehensively.

All breast implants can be divided into round and anatomical (drop-shaped) according to their shape. Mentor anatomical implants have one distinctive feature: their curvature (curvature of lines) is the most accurate among products of this type on the modern market. Their use allows you to most accurately recreate the natural appearance of the breast.

Mentor round breast implants are well suited for breast correction in patients of normal build. These products allow you to create a large bust with a pronounced upper pole.

If it is necessary to change the shape of the breasts in thin women of asthenic type, it is recommended to use teardrop-shaped Mentor endoprostheses. The edges of such products are not visible under the skin even with a small amount of adipose tissue.

We will indicate the cost of Mentor implants in different cities of Russia. It is important to take into account that during the operation you will also have to pay for the doctor’s services, stay in the clinic, and the medications used. In addition, the cost of the implants themselves may vary depending on the shape and size chosen.

CityApproximate cost of one Mentor implant
Moscow89000 rub.
Saint Petersburg82000 rub.
Novosibirsk75000 rub.
Nizhny Novgorod77000 rub.
Vladivostok72000 rub.
Arkhangelsk62000 rub.
Orenburg71000 rub.

How is the breast implant shell constructed?

The shell consists of several layers. This guarantees strength, eliminates “leakage” and even minimal evaporation of its contents. The surface of the implant shell can be smooth or rough.

For round implants this does not matter much, but for anatomical ones it is very important.

The rough surface prevents the implant from sliding and turning, keeping it in the correct position.

But not all textured (rough) surfaces fix the endoprosthesis in the tissues equally well. Implants from the world's leading manufacturers, used in the Doktorplastic clinic, are distinguished by good quality of fixation, so situations in which the implant moves are practically excluded.
