Therefore, 1-2 times a week I use a mega-cleanser to dissolve deep impurities in the pores (I can’t use it more often, severe peeling occurs). I chose Garnier Clean Skin Active (ultra-cleansing cleanser with absorbent charcoal). And for daily cleaning, including removing makeup, something that is gentle and does not dry out the skin. This time I decided to try Garnier 2 in 1 micellar water, which is talked about too much.
If I’ve been using the first product for about a year, I decided to try the second one for the first time - before this I had different micellar waters, I like them more than makeup remover milk. In this review I will try to analyze the composition of the products in more detail and draw conclusions.

- Excellent cleansing. The manufacturer recommends using water to cleanse makeup from the entire face, including effectively removing mascara and eyeliner, something that water rarely does.
- Gentle composition formula. That is, water does not sting the eyes, and there is no alcohol.
- Soothing skin. Additionally, water acts as a tonic and soothes the skin. That is, after using the product, you do not need to wash your face with either water or tonic.
But now let’s take a closer look: is the water itself as good as the manufacturer’s promises?
Detailed analysis of the composition
The manufacturer indicates on the packaging that micellar water contains no fragrances. Let's find out if this is so.
- Aqua. Water, nothing unusual.
- Hexylene Glycol. Fragrance ingredient (although the manufacturer on the packaging reported the absence of this component). Causes the formation of comedones. Dangerous!
- Glycerin. It has a softening effect and improves the regenerative abilities of cells.
- Cocoamphodiacetate. A mild cleanser, added to children's shampoos.
- Disodium and Disodium Edta. Antioxidants used to form foam and enhance the effect of preservatives. Not good, may cause allergies. Dangerous.
- Poloxamer 184. Surfactant, cleanses the skin, dissolves cosmetics. But not particularly good for the skin.
- Polyaminopropyl biguanide. Prevents the growth of bacteria and has disinfectant properties. Slightly dries the skin and is not suitable for sensitive types (may cause allergies). But overall it is not a particularly dangerous component.
Contains fragrances and surfactants that are harmful to the skin. Therefore, after cleansing your cosmetics with this micellar water, it is imperative to wash your face well with regular (preferably softened) water.
Does it remove makeup well?
I have a strange design drawn on my hand using eyebrow and lip pencils, black (non-waterproof) eyeliner, eye shadow, and lipstick.
I apply micellar water to a cotton pad and press it onto the drawing - the brightness is gone, but the contours remain.
I carry out the procedure a second, third and fourth time. So it doesn’t remove makeup very well, and there will be problems with waterproof in general. But the product doesn’t really sting the eyes - for me this is a huge plus! This means that the concentration of fragrances and surfactants is minimal, and it does not contain alcohol. But I still recommend that after using this micellar water, you additionally cleanse your skin with regular water.

Cleanser Clean skin Active with absorbent carbon
Designed for oily and acne-prone skin. The main components of the composition are salicylic acid and absorbent carbon. In general, you can simply make masks with activated carbon 1-2 times and wipe your face with salicylic acid 3 times a week (for oily skin - daily, this will not do any harm!). But I’m lazy, so I have this cleanser on my bathroom shelf.
The manufacturer does not recommend the product for dry and sensitive skin, or advises using it extremely rarely!
