How to squeeze out a wen correctly and how safe it is

Squeezing out a wen is a procedure that experts do not recommend performing at home without qualified advice. You can get rid of the problem yourself only with small lipomas using a special device and only if you follow a certain technique.

Doctors categorically do not recommend squeezing out the wen on your own, due to the risk of infection and malignancy.

If it is impossible to visit a doctor, in exceptional cases you can pierce the wen with a Vidal needle.

At the slightest sign of suppuration or degeneration, urgent consultation with a doctor is required.

Failure to comply with safety rules, as well as when trying to remove large formations, there is a risk of developing complications such as suppuration, acne growth, tissue scarring, and the degeneration of healthy cells into cancerous ones.

It is impossible to create sterile conditions at home to remove a lipoma.
At best, this procedure will be ineffective, and the tumor will appear again. But you can also get an infection, provoke the appearance of an abscess, and this is already dangerous with serious complications, especially with immunodeficiency.

What is a lipoma?

Benign tumors located directly under our skin, consisting primarily of adipose tissue, are called lipomas (colloquially a lipoma is called a “fat”).

A classic lipoma (fat) is a lump located directly under the skin, elastic, painless when touched, and displaces with light pressure. Typically, a lipoma is visible to the naked eye because it forms a lump on the skin. The size of lipomas usually does not exceed the size of a bean grain, but in “advanced cases” the tumor can reach significant sizes. The localization of lipomas can be very diverse. This tumor can develop in any part of the body where there is fatty tissue. Once formed, the wen gradually grows, increasing in size.

Consequences

Failure to comply with the rules described above, as well as squeezing out the wen with your fingers, contributes to the addition of a secondary infection. Infection with pathogenic microorganisms provokes:

  • tissue suppuration;
  • exacerbation of chronic skin diseases;
  • active growth of acne;
  • appearance of scars.

It is not always possible to completely remove the millet wen with your hands. The tumor shell remains in the same place, which increases the risk of relapse. Under these conditions, the new tumor grows faster, reaching large sizes. As the tumor grows, the intensity of pain in the problem area increases.

In extreme cases, wen cells transform into cancerous ones. This is facilitated by inflammation of the skin tissue, which occurs when the epidermis becomes infected.

You cannot remove tumors from the body on your own without consulting a doctor. Failure to comply with the rules for treating skin tumors leads to serious consequences.

Wen or lymph node?

Often the wen looks like a hardened, inflamed lymph node. However, fatty tissue is easy to distinguish from a lymph node, since the appearance of a lymph node is often associated with an increase in body temperature or some kind of infectious or inflammatory disease. Lymph nodes are located in certain places of the human body, while a wen (lipoma) can be localized in any part of the body where there is subcutaneous fatty tissue. The lymph node can often be painful when pressed (a lipoma will be painless).

Are lipomas dangerous?

Being a benign tumor, a lipoma does not pose a threat to human life and, as a rule, the main indication for lipoma removal is aesthetic discomfort. However, there are also real health risks. A lipoma can become infected and then its removal will be much more inconvenient and have much more unpleasant aesthetic consequences, since the incision in the case of an abscess will be much larger, and the scar from the operation will be much more noticeable.

How to remove lipoma (fat)? On the Internet there are a large number of so-called “folk” recipes for treating lipomas using the “Golden Usher” plant, films from raw chicken eggs, garlic, celandine and even cinnamon, but we have to warn you: lipomas should absolutely not be pierced, squeezed out or treated independently in at home. This is dangerous due to the development of abnormal growth of adipose tissue and the development of a dangerous purulent infection.

The most suitable way to reliably get rid of lipomas quickly, comfortably and without aesthetic inconvenience is surgical removal of lipomas.

In Vitaclinik, as a rule, lipoma removal can be performed on the same day of treatment. After consulting a dermatologist (and, if necessary, a surgeon), the most suitable method of removal is determined - removing the lipoma using a traditional scalpel, or removing the lipoma using a laser.

The surgical removal procedure itself is carried out in a convenient and comfortable treatment room under local anesthesia in appropriate sterile conditions by a qualified surgeon and takes only a few minutes. The incision for removing uncomplicated wen is very small and often does not even require a suture.

After extrusion

After removal, you will need a course of anti-inflammatory and healing masks. If the wen was large, then such measures will prevent the appearance of scars.

Traditional medicine gives a lot of advice on how to open a lipoma and what to do if inflammation occurs. For example, it is proposed to make compresses from coltsfoot, aloe or Kalanchoe leaves. They should be changed several times a day.

From pharmaceutical products, it is good to use Levomekol or Ichthyol ointment.

With the help of elementary folk remedies, used regularly for quite a long time compared to the operation to remove the wen, you can also get rid of it:

  1. A paste of baked onions and crushed laundry soap should be applied to the lipoma for several months. Experts say that sooner or later it will burst - and only then can the contents be removed.
  2. For lipomas on the face, a paste of a clove of garlic and a drop of sunflower oil is suggested. It is necessary to lubricate the tubercle with this and wait for it to open.
  3. To force the lipoma to come out, you can use a mixture of ammonia and water. You need to moisten the problem area several times a day for a week. After 7 days, removal will be easier.
  4. Blue, red, black and green cosmetic clay degrease the skin and regulate the secretion of sebum.
  5. For two to three weeks, you can apply a cotton swab soaked in alcohol with a teaspoon of black pepper sprinkled on it. After the lipoma gives up, squeeze out everything that is inside.

As a rule, there are no serious contraindications for removing wen. However, in some cases, surgery is not recommended. This may be if the patient has:

  • HIV infection.
  • Diabetes.
  • Increased skin sensitivity.
  • An open wound at the location of the wen.
  • Pregnancy at any stage.

It is strictly forbidden to squeeze out the wen on the eyelid with your hands, pierce it yourself or cut it. As a result, a scar or scar may remain, as well as the appearance of new wen and their rapid growth.

How to remove wen on the eyelid using a laser

It should be noted that this method is suitable for those who do not suffer from disorders of the circulatory system. Laser removal of wen on the eyelid is the safest and most gentle method. Among other advantages, the operation takes place completely without blood.

The procedure usually takes 25 minutes. The wen is cut with a laser, and its edges are carefully moved in different directions. The fat capsule is grabbed with a clamp and pulled out. Most often, a carbon dioxide laser is used to remove lipomas. It takes 2-3 weeks for the wound to completely heal and restore the skin. Often, after removing a wen with a laser, patients do not have any traces on their skin.

The method of removing the wen is determined by a specialist. The laser is used if the diameter of the formation does not exceed 3 cm. If the lipoma is large, the doctor prescribes its removal using a scalpel.

Why are wen under the eyes dangerous?

Often you want to remove the pimples that have arisen yourself, by squeezing. However, this should not be done under any circumstances, since squeezing out wen under the eyes is fraught with infection and growth of the formation in volumes. Moreover, a completely different, more dangerous disease can be disguised as a so-called pimple:

  • hernia in fatty tissue;
  • molluscum contagiosum;
  • benign tumor of the sweat gland;
  • gland hyperplasia.

If you find wen under your eyes. It is very important to consult a specialist in a timely manner to establish the correct diagnosis, on which further treatment will depend.

Recovery and recommendations

The rehabilitation period is quite easy. The patient must come for scheduled examinations and dressing changes. Do not wet the bandage or scratch the scab. It should fall off on its own in about 10 days. Further healing will occur naturally. If the operation is performed correctly, the tumor usually does not recur.

Basic recommendations:

  1. protect the wound from exposure to direct sunlight or mechanical damage;
  2. use a special cream against ultraviolet rays;
  3. refuse to swim in open reservoirs of artificial or natural origin;
  4. do not visit the solarium;
  5. avoid public places - baths, saunas, swimming pools;
  6. treat the wound with an antiseptic recommended by the attending physician;
  7. do not pick the place where the lipoma was and do not tear off the crust;
  8. Avoid direct contact of the wound surface with a towel or linen.

Such rules will protect the patient from possible complications - the addition of pathogenic microflora, bleeding. All traces of the wen removal procedure will disappear within a few weeks, the defect site will be covered with smooth skin without scars.

Causes of wen under the eyes

If a fatty pimple that forms near the eye is the consequence of illiterate eyelid skin care, then the pimple, to a greater extent, appears due to impaired metabolism. However, there are other reasons such as:

  • problems with the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract;
  • high cholesterol;
  • disorders of lipid metabolism of the skin;
  • genetic predisposition;
  • hormonal disbalance.

If any health problems are identified, treatment of wen should be comprehensive, eliminating problems not only of an external nature, but also of internal organs.
