Effective methods of traditional medicine in the fight against psoriasis

Author: MC "Diamed-Tula"

Psoriasis is a disease caused by many factors. Reddish spots with silvery or white-gray scales appear on the skin. If you scrape them off, they will fall off. Such spots are called erythematous-squamous papules. They are localized in different places: on the folds of the upper and lower extremities, on the scalp, on the stomach and chest. Often the spots are located along the edge of the hair growth. This condition is called corona.

Causes of psoriasis

While studying the disease, scientists cannot come to a single conclusion about what causes psoriasis. Among the factors that influence its occurrence are:

  • genetic predisposition;
  • bad environment;
  • constant stress;
  • metabolic disorders;
  • diseases associated with the functioning of the endocrine system.

Modern medicine in the fight against the disease offers treatment of psoriasis using UV rays or liquid nitrogen. Patients are also recommended to go to the seaside, take frequent rest, and completely avoid stressful situations. Alternative medicine involves less expensive ways to solve the problem, which are based on the internal and external use of drugs prepared at home.

Briefly about pathology

Psoriasis is a non-infectious common skin disease. It is chronic in nature and occurs in waves over many years - periods of exacerbation alternate with a state of remission.

Symptoms are expressed by the formation of dry red spots on the epidermis, which are called psoriatic plaques. The appearance of spots is accompanied by unpleasant itching and a burning sensation.

The surfaces of the elbows and knees, the scalp under the hair, buttocks, palms and feet are most often affected. Less commonly – the external genitalia and nails.

The causes of the disease are not fully understood, but more often it manifests itself under the influence of the following factors:

  • heredity;
  • mutation at the gene level;
  • immune response to metabolic failures in the body;
  • hormonal disorders in the body;
  • endocrine disorders;
  • depression, stress;
  • alcohol abuse.

The main causes of the disease lie in disruptions in the functioning of the immune system or failures in cell division.

Psoriasis is a systemic disease and requires an integrated approach to therapy. In the absence or untimely treatment, it leads to metabolic disorders, joint diseases, irreversible changes in the brain, damage to the external and internal mucous membranes. The risk of developing encephalopathy and stroke increases.

Traditional medicine - an integrated approach to the treatment of psoriasis

As you know, traditional medicine appeared long before drug treatment. It was in them that for centuries the healing properties of plants and gifts of nature were embodied, which were passed on by healers from generation to generation. Thanks to various lotions, ointments, and infusions, you can minimize the manifestations of psoriasis or heal it completely.

In addition, it should be remembered that each person needs an individual approach - for some patients a certain ointment will be effective, while for others a completely different one will be suitable. Therefore, if one traditional medicine does not give visible results, do not despair - another will definitely help.

Therapeutic baths

Psoriasis on the legs causes physical and psychological discomfort; patients’ quality of life drops sharply; due to skin rashes and itching, it is difficult for a person to adapt to society. You need to keep your hands, feet, and whole body clean, use antibacterial soap.

Warm water with a decoction of herbs or other medicinal ingredients has a good effect on the condition of the skin, soothes, moisturizes, so if you have psoriasis, you can and should take baths.

This can also be done at home:

This bath is taken every other day.
  4. If you take a bath with turpentine emulsion, then treat the mucous membranes, wounds or abrasions on the body with a rich cream or olive oil.
  5. Baths with starch relieve itching well. Half a kilo of the product is diluted in cold water, poured into prepared warm water and stirred thoroughly. After the procedure, no additional rinsing is required, since starch does not harm the skin.
  6. Baths with pine extract have an antiseptic effect. They improve the condition of the skin, relieve inflammation, also calm the nervous system, and help strengthen the body's protective functions.
  7. The herbal baths have a tonic effect, soften the skin of the hands and feet, and areas of inflammation become less noticeable. Fees for herbal baths are selected individually.
