Directions for use and doses
Benzyl benzoate ointment is used topically. When treating scabies and pityriasis versicolor, before using the drug, patients should take a shower with soap and hot water to remove scales and crusts, rinse off the soap thoroughly and dry with a towel.
The ointment is applied in a thin, even layer to the surface of the body from the neck to the soles and lightly rubbed into the skin; first treat the left and right arms, then the legs and torso (the ointment should not be applied to the face and mucous membranes). After treatment, hands should not be washed for 3 hours. In some cases, after the applied ointment has dried (usually after 1 hour), it is recommended to apply a second layer of the drug.
After treatment is completed, patients put on clean underwear and change bedding. After 24-48 hours, patients take a shower and change their linen and bedding again. As a rule, a single application of benzyl benzoate ointment is sufficient. However, if necessary, the treatment is repeated, and the course of treatment can last 7-10 days.

When treating scabies in children under 5 years of age, Benzyl benzoate ointment should be diluted immediately before use with warm boiled water (30-35 °C) in a 1:1 ratio and mixed until a homogeneous emulsion is formed. The drug kills larvae and adult ticks, but does not affect eggs.

Side effect
