  • How to fight cellulite?
  • Function of cellulite scrubs
  • Recipes for homemade scrubs for cellulite
  • What else can you add to using an anti-cellulite scrub?

Cellulite very often turns out to be a difficult problem to eliminate. Some ignore it, others fight it incorrectly, others lack willpower, and so on and so forth. And the result is the same - orange peel on the most piquant places. Many people underestimate the comprehensive approach in the fight against cellulite - that is, it’s time to do sports, balance your diet, drink more water, and an anti-cellulite scrub .

Targeted effects on problem areas of the skin have far from a minor effect. It is extremely rare that anti-cellulite products turn out to be fully effective on their own, but if they are combined with physical activity, diet, massage of problem areas and used systematically, the result will live up to expectations!

How scrubs help fight cellulite at home

Anti-cellulite scrub is a cosmetic product for body care. The product can be purchased at the store or made at home. Each preparation contains abrasive (exfoliating) particles, thanks to which during the procedure the epidermis is actively renewed, and waste and toxins leave the cells. In addition, the product often contains skin-softening ingredients, such as natural essential oils or dairy products.

Anti-cellulite scrubs have different consistencies and compositions

When used regularly, it may have the following effects on the skin:

  • improve blood microcirculation;
  • activate the breakdown of fat;
  • help accelerate intracellular metabolism;
  • even out skin color and texture;
  • remove waste, toxins and other harmful substances from epidermal cells;
  • increase the elasticity and tone of the epidermis;
  • facilitate cellular respiration;
  • soften the skin;
  • promote rapid and high-quality renewal of epidermal cells;
  • rejuvenate the skin.

Thanks to the properties described above, scrubs effectively fight cellulite in the first stages of its development. Of course, a cosmetic product cannot be a panacea. The problem must be solved comprehensively: maintain a drinking regime, eat right and be physically active. In this case, scrubs will actively help smooth the skin and eliminate the unpleasant “orange peel”.

Cosmetic clay white

It is a homogeneous white powder with a yellowish or grayish tint. Typically white

Cosmetic clay is used in cleansing masks to care for combination or oily skin. It perfectly dries, tightens and cleanses the skin, and also absorbs excess fat and helps to noticeably narrow pores.

White cosmetic clay or, as it is commonly called, kaolin, has excellent whitening properties, so it helps even out skin color and tighten the shape of the face. In addition, cosmetic white clay is an excellent antiseptic, so it is added to anti-inflammatory and bactericidal face masks.

Rules for using anti-cellulite scrubs

When using anti-cellulite scrubs, the following rules must be observed:

  • The scrub is recommended to be applied before any other anti-cellulite procedure. The latter include wraps, masks, massages and baths. The fact is that it helps open pores. Beneficial substances applied to exfoliated skin are absorbed more easily.
  • Scrubs can be used up to twice a week. More often it’s not worth it, because in this way you risk depriving the skin of its natural protective layer.
  • Before applying the scrub, it is recommended to take a warm shower or go to the sauna/bathhouse/hammam. Steamed skin is easier to exfoliate. Dead cells are easier to remove from the surface of the epidermis, and waste and toxins are removed from the tissues in double volume.
  • The scrub can only be applied to damp skin. The fact is that the coarse particles contained in the product can easily injure dry epidermis.
  • The duration of the procedure is from 5 to 10 minutes. If the skin is properly prepared, there is no point in using it longer. In addition, prolonged rubbing of problem areas can lead to injury to the epidermis.
  • The procedure can be performed using a special soft brush or washcloth. In this case, reduce the session time to 5–7 minutes so as not to harm the skin.
  • Make movements from bottom to top. This way you will achieve an additional effect: improved blood flow in the treated areas (not only in tissues, but also in muscles).
  • Try not to rub, but to massage the skin. Make circular and pinching movements.
  • Avoid pain; the procedure should be comfortable.
  • At the end of the procedure, apply nourishing lotion to the skin. This is true if you do not plan to continue anti-cellulite care (do a body wrap, massage or take a bath).
  • Perform the procedure in the evening or a few hours before going outside. The fact is that dust and dirt easily get into open pores.

Cosmetic clay pink

It is obtained after mixing red and white cosmetic clay. It is perfect for any skin type. Thanks to a cosmetic mask made from pink clay, you can easily smooth out fine wrinkles, soften and rejuvenate your facial skin, and improve its contour. Among other things, pink cosmetic clay has excellent nourishing and cleansing properties, making the skin more elastic and velvety. Below are some of the most effective masks made from cosmetic pink clay.

Recipe No. 1 Universal mask

A mask made from pink cosmetic clay is made in the same way as a mask made from any other. It is diluted with water and applied to the face for 10-15 minutes, and then washed off with warm water.

If your skin is prone to dryness or is dehydrated and lifeless, instead of water, add products such as cream, cottage cheese, milk and egg yolk to the mask. Otherwise, when the skin is oily, mix cosmetic pink clay with kefir, yogurt, protein or yogurt.

Precautionary measures

To avoid any discomfort during and after using the scrub, take the following precautions:

  • Be sure to do a sensitivity test. Apply a little scrub (whether store-bought or homemade) to the inner surface of your elbow. After 10 minutes, wash off the product. If irritation does not occur a day after the test, feel free to use the product. Otherwise, it is better to refuse to use the composition.
  • Never apply the scrub to dry skin. Such manipulations will increase the risk of injury to the epidermis during the procedure.
  • Do not apply the scrub to irritated skin. Using the product may make the problem worse.
  • If during the procedure you feel a strong burning sensation or damage the integrity of the skin, immediately rinse and apply wound healing cream to the epidermis.
  • Do not use a scrub before sunbathing or visiting a solarium. Ultraviolet rays penetrate better into the epidermal tissue through open pores. In this regard, the harm of the sun and solarium to the skin increases.
  • Do not carry out the procedure for several days after depilation. The fact is that the latter injures the skin. When applying a scrub to damaged epidermis, you risk aggravating the situation.
  • If you make your own scrub, make sure to use a fresh product each time. Even if the recipe allows you to store the product in the refrigerator for a certain time, resort to this only in extreme cases. It is better if the scrub is always fresh. The fact is that during storage, various processes can occur in the composition, the products of which have a negative effect on the skin.

When using cosmetic black clay, everything is individual, so many cosmetologists recommend diluting a small amount of cosmetic black clay with water and applying it to a small area of skin. After 7 minutes, it must be washed off. After this, look carefully to see if the skin on the applied area differs from the rest of the untreated part of the face.

Of course, a lot depends on what ingredients you will mix black cosmetic clay with. When the skin is dry, it is better to mix black cosmetic clay with products such as milk, cottage cheese or egg yolk. When the skin is oily, then a little apple cider vinegar, egg white, lemon or any other sour juice squeezed from fruits or berries should be added to the black cosmetic clay.

Cosmetic clay: basic rules for skin care

  1. Determine your skin type . Before you buy cosmetic clay at the pharmacy, decide what type of skin you have and only then purchase it.
  2. Massage your skin. When applying a cosmetic mask or clay scrub to your face, massage it as if you were doing a facial massage, but gently without getting carried away. This is how the components of the mask or scrub are absorbed into your skin as effectively as possible.
  3. Pre-steam the skin . Apply a mask or scrub to hot, even steamed skin (ideally, if you do this after a bath or shower, read more about steam baths here ) .
  4. Do not overdo it . If the recipe says to keep the mask on for 10-15 minutes, do not follow the principle: “the more, the better” - this will only injure the skin.
  5. Don't ignore your neck. Remember, the face, neck and hands are silent witnesses of our age, so when applying cosmetic clay to the face, do not forget to apply it to the neck and even hands - this is very useful!
  6. Give yourself 15 minutes of silence . If you decide to make a clay mask, then after applying it, try to relax the muscles of your face and neck as much as possible. Such a useful mask will not only absorb into your skin as effectively as possible, saturating it with useful microelements, but will also smooth out microwrinkles.
  7. Rinse properly . Start washing off the cosmetic clay mask with lukewarm water, gradually switching to cold water. This way you will not only wash away all the remnants of the mask or scrub, but also narrow the pores.
  8. Experiment . If the skin is prone to dryness, dilute cosmetic clay with fatty dairy products; if, on the contrary, it is fatty, add apple cider vinegar, egg whites, yogurt. If your skin is problematic, add a decoction of herbs (chamomile, string, mint) or a few drops of essential oil to a clay mask or scrub. Try it, and you will definitely find the most effective cosmetic composition for your skin.
  9. Think positively . When making a mask, looking in the mirror or just washing your face, tell yourself that the scrub or mask will definitely help you, that your wrinkles will smooth out, and your skin will become really soft and velvety. Believe me, this will definitely happen!

Store-bought anti-cellulite scrubs

Most of us don’t have time to prepare anti-cellulite scrubs ourselves. In this case, products sold in cosmetic stores come to the rescue.

How to choose a good scrub in the store

When choosing a product, you first need to pay attention to the composition. The product must contain natural absorbents: sea salt, crushed apricot kernels, ground coffee and others. Also, a good scrub always contains a softening component: shea or sesame butter, berry pulp, and so on.

Natural or synthetic exfoliating particles - the choice is yours. However, if the skin in problem areas is overly sensitive, pay attention to artificial granules. The latter have a more rounded and soft shape, so they do not injure the epidermis.

Yellow cosmetic clay masks

The classic version of using a mask made from yellow cosmetic clay is very simple. To do this, its powder must be diluted with cold boiled water to the consistency of sour cream. The mask should be applied to the skin of the face and necks, and after 10-15 minutes, rinse with cold water.

Recipe No. 2. Mask for very oily skin

Take 2 teaspoons of yellow cosmetic clay and add one teaspoon each of apple cider vinegar, honey and lemon juice to it. Dilute the resulting mass with boiled water and bring the mask to the consistency of sour cream. Apply the resulting mask to the skin for 10-15 minutes, after which rinse the mask with warm water.

Recipe No. 3 Mask for aging skin

Take one tablespoon each of milk and yolk. Add them to such an amount of yellow cosmetic clay that when mixed, a homogeneous thick mixture is formed - a mask. Add a few well-crushed mint leaves or 2-3 drops of mint essential oil to the prepared mask. Mix the mask well and apply it to your face. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse it off with boiled water at room temperature.
