It is very simple to prepare oil with hydrophilic properties at home. These cosmetics are made from the usual base esters and chemical compounds (emulsifiers). As a base, you can take any oils suitable for your face type.
For oily skin this may be:
- Chamomile, lavender, rose (also suitable for problem areas);
- Hazelnut, jojoba or coconut;
- Black cumin, vanilla, nerol.
For dry skin:
- Shea, peach or almond;
- Avocado, hemp and castor;
- Ylang-ylang, chamomile, macadamia.
It should be noted that you can use several oils or just one as a basis - the result will not affect the quality of cleansing. But the fewer oils, the worse the nutritional and caring properties.
Effect of oil on skin
How to make your own hydrophilic cleansing oil:
- It is necessary to prepare the components and container. The calculation will be made based on 100% of the original product (in this case, if you immediately take grams instead of percentages, it will not change);
- First, the container is disinfected. This is necessary to increase the shelf life of the product. It is rinsed with boiling water and dried. We recommend using dark thick glass containers;
- Polysorbate is poured into the bottle (it will act as an emulsifier). You can buy TWIN-20 (for dry skin) or TWIN-80 (for oily skin). Proportions for 100% - 12% (TWIN-20 can be up to 30%, but this should be checked after mixing the main mixture and using it). Please note that Polavax is not suitable for liquid substances;
Photo – Twin 80 - The percentage of oil can be up to 90%, but you need to carefully calculate the ratios. If several essential components are used, then the base is made from the most necessary (for example, coconut or peach for hair, lavender or chamomile for intimate hygiene), and then additional ones are added. Let's say 20% chamomile, 20% shea, 10% coconut and 30% olive. If only 1 oil is used, then you need to take approximately 80% of it (to leave a “reserve” in case you need to supplement it with polysorbate);
- In order to reduce acidity, vitamins must be added to such oil mixtures. This helps normalize the pH balance of the skin. You can use an oil solution E or A. They can be replaced with artificial components, which are sold in stores that contain components for producing cosmetics at home. Take from 1 to 2%;
- The resulting solution is thoroughly shaken. It can be used immediately after preparation. If after application and rinsing there is a feeling of greasyness or some kind of film on the face, then you need to add more emulsifiers. Everything here is strictly individual - add the amount needed to thoroughly cleanse your skin.
In total, it turned out 100% that another 6 to 8% is free for adding polysorbate. The resulting solution can be used every day to cleanse the body and face, but it must be shaken before use, since emulsifiers tend to sink to the bottom, disrupting the hydrophilicity of the composition.
