Description of pharmacological action

The healing power of the oil for the skin is explained by its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids and the antioxidant vitamin E, which, when applied to the face, exhibit strong regenerating, nourishing, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antitoxic and tonic properties. When using wheat germ oil to treat dermatitis, the effect is achieved in a matter of weeks: the inflammatory process subsides, the crusts are rejected, and the skin itself smoothes out and acquires an even matte color. The oil is also used for hemorrhoids to lubricate anal fissures, for eczema and psoriasis, burns to speed up the healing process and eliminate the inflammatory factor. The product occupies a worthy place in traditional medicine recipes: it is recommended to be used for daily care of dry, flaky, rash- and cracked, wrinkled skin, as well as in the form of masks for dry and split ends. A group of researchers has proven that when wheat germ oil is taken orally, it has a tonic and restorative effect, increases resistance to various infectious diseases and performance, and slows down the aging process of the body. Among other things, it normalizes metabolism, the functions of the endocrine glands, improves digestion and promotes the healing of erosions and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum. Gastroenterologists and therapists note a decrease in blood cholesterol levels and a decrease in the risk of cardiovascular pathology when using oil.

How to use wheat germ oil

The use of wheat germ oil for hair can be aimed at both hair restoration and the prevention of fragility and hair loss. You can choose any format for the procedure depending on personal preferences and the problem that needs to be solved:

  • Rubbing. When rubbing, the oil should be applied to the skin with your fingertips and lightly massaged, then cover your head with a shower cap and wrap it in a towel for 10 minutes. As a complement to the vegetable oil, you can use any essential oil of your choice.
  • Masks and wraps. Experts recommend using wheat oil as a mask to solve severe problems - itchy skin, hair loss, and normalize oily skin and hair. Other vegetable and essential oils, lemon juice, honey and a chicken egg can be added to the mask. The product is applied to the scalp and hair along the entire length, covered with plastic wrap and wrapped in a terry towel. The duration of the mask is on average 30-40 minutes, the wraps - from 1 to 4 hours.
  • Massages. During a massage, the effect on the scalp is more active than during rubbing - under massaging movements, the skin warms up, blood rushes to the surface, providing a flow of nutrients and oxygen to the follicles. In this case, wrap your hair in a towel for about 15 minutes.
  • Shampoos and balms. In ready-made products you can find combinations of valuable wheat oil with herbal extracts and other useful additives. Thanks to this combination, they actively nourish and moisturize the hair, giving it a well-groomed appearance. Shampoo and Balm Clean Line for thin and weakened hair provide comprehensive care, creating natural volume at the roots without weighing down the strands.

Before using wheat oil for hair, you need to warm it up a little in a water bath to reduce the viscosity and ensure better absorption. After the procedures, the herbal oil should be washed off with a mild shampoo, leaving the hair to dry naturally without a hair dryer.

Wheat germ oil is suitable for any hair type, but when using it, care must be taken not to oversaturate the hair or make it too oily. For care, it is enough to carry out procedures with herbal oil once a week for 1-2 months, after which you should take a break for a month.

Before using wheat oil, you must perform an allergic reaction test - apply a small amount of the product to the crook of your elbow and leave for 5-10 minutes. The product may cause allergies if redness appears at the site of application and the skin itches; in this case, it is better to avoid using the product.

Wheat germ

General and characteristics

The germ is the basis of wheat grains - the kernel. All the vital resources of future spikelets are concentrated in them. The raw materials from which oil is made are an invaluable storehouse of useful components. It is unlikely that many natural remedies can boast the same rich composition as germs: 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids and 21 microelements. As the culture grows, the amount and concentration of these substances decreases, but the carbohydrate content increases.

It is at this stage that wheat can bring maximum benefits to the body. Compared to ripe grains, germs contain more calcium (1.5–2.5 times), potassium (2.5–5 times) and B vitamins (3–4 times). Natural oil from wheat kernels is extracted by cold pressing (pressing) the grains, which consist of 7–14% thick oily liquid.

To obtain 250 ml of the finished product, you need to process about 1 ton of raw materials.

The resulting extract from wheat germ has a thick consistency, golden yellow color, rich herbaceous aroma and unique taste. This oil is actively used in cosmetology as a base oil. This means that the nutritious liquid is suitable for use in its pure form, for preparing various homemade creams, masks, lotions and balms, and for enriching finished body care products.
